About the Movement
A public health movement to prevent, detect, and defeat diabetes across India.
Our Mission
The Fight Against Diabetes is a public health movement dedicated to preventing and defeating diabetes across India. India has 101 million people living with diabetes and another 136 million who are prediabetic — that's 1 in every 5 adults. Most don't know their status until the damage is done.
Through free community screening camps, diabetes education, clinical follow-ups, and partnerships with healthcare professionals, we detect diabetes and related conditions like hypertension and kidney disease early — before they damage organs, steal breadwinners, and push families into poverty.
Why We Call It a Fight
Diabetes isn't just a medical condition — it's a social crisis. When unmanaged diabetes causes kidney failure, blindness, or a heart attack in the breadwinner of a family, the consequences go far beyond the hospital. The family faces catastrophic medical bills, permanent loss of income, and often spirals into poverty.
The ICMR-INDIAB study reveals the scale: 38% of affected households face catastrophic health expenditure. 48% resort to selling assets or borrowing to pay for emergency treatment. 10% are pushed below the poverty line. These aren't just statistics — they're families destroyed by a condition that could have been caught with a simple blood test.
That's why this is a fight, not just a programme. This movement belongs to every doctor who volunteers at a camp, every participant who gets screened, every family that changes their diet, and every organization that opens its doors for a free diabetes screening camp.
Families Over Statistics
Behind every diabetes number is a family at risk. We protect breadwinners, caregivers, and livelihoods.
Comprehensive Screening
We test blood glucose, HbA1c, blood pressure, and BMI — because diabetes rarely travels alone.
Accessible & Bilingual
Content in Telugu and English, designed for mobile-first access across urban and rural India.
Impact That Matters
We track not just screenings, but families protected from the financial devastation of late-stage diabetes.
